1. Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Where art and nature collide at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Spanning 11 acres of lush landscapes, this iconic garden is home to over 40 thought-provoking sculptures, including the legendary Spoon and Cherry.

Some masterpieces are permanent, while others rotate, offering new surprises with every visit. Best of all? The Sculpture Garden is completely free, inviting everyone to come and explore.

Just next door, the Walker Art Museum awaits, offering free admission every Thursday and the first Saturday of each month. And during the summer months, why not stretch your body as well as your mind?

Free yoga classes in the garden are the perfect way to connect with both art and nature. This is more than a park—it’s an experience that’s waiting for you to discover!

2. Stone Arch Bridge

The Stone Arch Bridge is hands down one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities.

Start by parking on the Northeast side of Minneapolis, then take a walk into downtown for a jaw-dropping view of the skyline. But that’s not all—along the way, you can explore Mill Ruins Park, a hidden gem that stretches alongside the bridge and the mighty Mississippi River. It’s the perfect place to soak in some history, enjoy the views, and make lasting memories.

3. Mall of America

The Mall of America is the ultimate spot for an unforgettable afternoon.

Whether you’re chasing thrills on roller coasters, testing your aim with ax throwing, or zooming around on go-carts, there’s never a dull moment. And when you need a break, indulge in everything from margaritas and cotton candy to juicy steaks and indulgent desserts. With miles of shopping, comedy shows, nail salons, and so much more, it’s a one-stop destination. Plus, it’s the perfect place to escape the winter chill—spend hours people-watching or just stroll through the warmth of this epic mall!

4. Minnehaha Waterfalls

Minnehaha Falls is a stunning natural wonder right in the heart of Minneapolis. Take a stroll down the winding, steep steps to get up close and personal with the cascading waters—perfect for snapping incredible photos. In the fall, the colors along the Mississippi River create a breathtaking backdrop, especially in September and October. And in winter? You can even hike behind the frozen waterfall for a magical experience. But that’s not all—St. Paul has its own hidden gems, like Hidden Falls and Shadow Falls. Want to discover more? 5. Farmers’ Market

There’s nothing like the fresh, vibrant feel of a Farmers’ Market—especially when you’re picking up locally grown fruit, ripe tomatoes, and beautiful flowers.

The St. Paul Farmers’ Market, which dates all the way back to 1854, and the Minneapolis Farmers’ Market, which has been a staple since 1876, are both incredible places to spend your morning.

It’s the perfect way to support local growers while enjoying the best of what the season has to offer. Want to learn more? Check out the Minneapolis Farmers’ Market here and the St. Paul Farmers’ Market here!

6. Como Zoo and Conservatory

The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is the perfect place for a fun-filled day with the whole family! Take the kids to see the giraffes and tigers, or bring a friend to stroll through the vibrant, lush gardens in the conservatory.

Best of all, both the zoo and conservatory are free year-round—though you’ll need to reserve your time slot in advance. You can easily do that here! Whether you’re exploring wildlife or enjoying the beauty of nature, it’s a day you won’t forget.
